Should I cut my curly hair short?

I have very tight but bouncy curls...similar to this picture...http://www.wiggoddess.com/images/Audrey.jpg....i would like to cut it short..to about this length....http://www.joshua24.net/products/wigs/images-small/reneofparis/gillian_2343_small.jpg.......SHOULD i cut it....how will this affect the length of my curly hair after i cut it...oh yes i have a flat iron too....asap plzShould I cut my curly hair short?

The links won't work for me, so I don;t know how short you want to go. however, I do know (cuz I have curly hair too) that the shorter you cut, the more tight your curls will be. When curly hair gets longer, the weight takes out some of the curl. You may end up with an afro. This is fine of course, if it's what you want.

Curly hair almost never looks good short.
if you cut your hair short your hair will have a much greater tendency to be frizzy and shaggy, and it will take greater effort to make it look nice. When I had really long hair I could just get out of bed in the morning and it would look fine.
I for one wish I had long curley hair. But I dint think you should cut your hair short especially if you have tight bouncy curls. I really think you would regret it because it will be very hard to manage.
i cut my hair short once...don't do it unless your going to straighten it everyday. I have very thick naturally curly hair, if you cut it the weight of your hair will be less...so the curls will be tight and short. Plus frizzy... take care in deciding the length you want to cut it...you could wind up with the length a lot shorter than you planned.

i'm sorry but the links aren't working. short curly hair is cute if you can find the right style for your face shape and most importantly the right hair dresser to cut ur hair, some who understands not just the picture u take to them of what u want but someone who understand your hair and what your hair can or can not accomplish and short is is so easy to do and keep!my hair is wavy i so wish i had tight curls there are so many cute short hair cuts. do your research even if it takes some time. hope it works out for ya.

The length pulls the curl down, relaxing it. Cutting it shorter will make it kink up more.
Don't cut it your pretty just the way you are.
No, you should not. the gals with straight hair would love to have those curls, %26amp; have to pay, to get them. Keep your curls, %26amp; flatten them every now %26amp; then, to please just yourself.

I myself prefer short over curly, but that doesn't mean everybody does, it is a person's opinion on what they like. If you like it curly, keep it that way, if not change it. In the end, it's all up to you.
Of coarse you should, why wouldn't you want to try something different, you can always get it back.

Well I have curly hair and it's ok when it's semi short (1 or 2 inches past my shoulders) but the longer layers are trying to curl but are only slightly wavy and weird looking.


If I cut my longest lay about 2 inches, do you think it would curl better?

I love how it looks in the front but in the back it looks kinda discolored or a little dry probably try putting on some more mousse( the hair kind ha ha) on the back=]

you could cut your layers an inch shorter, this would work but dont do it too short because otherwise your hair will just flick out in random places! gets really annoying, i know because my hair is naturally a less curly version of yours and different colour.. haha

I have very similar hair and just have them put a ton of layers into it. I also use hot curlers! Loveeee them they make your hair super curley and bouncy. I let my hair dry natural and then put them in. Anyway I would cut an inch or two off your longest as I am doing next week to give them an extra bounce. Get good products and get a great hair dresser who knows what they are doing and can give you lots of great pointers. Anyway good luck!
you can either cut it shorter or when you scrunch it just put more spray on the longer layers. but cutting it shorter will make your hair curl more especiallt if you have naturally wavy/curly hair

i have my hair just past my shoukders


it's wavy on the top then goes into ringlets but can be loosened if i want into larger curls.


i always seem to wear it up in a pony tail or bun aand am thinking of getting it cut short so itsx healthier and a lot easier to look after.

Asymmetrical cut on curly-hair short bangs?

i have curly hair thats now shoulder length (and making me mad) would it be weird looking if it was asymmetrical and this long there would be like enuf difference for you to be able to tell





and right now i have those like nose/mouth really long bangs that don't quite fit behind your ears


my hair is curly so like EVERY day i straighten my bangs would it be hard to straighten bangs that don't go past your eyebrows?





or could i handle like those angled bangs wear there at an angle longer on 1 side or are those extremely impracticable?

With afro hair straightening it without product (not gel - a hair straightening product to protect it from the heat and serum to tame the frizz) is not a good idea. You could get your hair cut but it's not going to get rid of the afro front.





We really need a photo to see what it's really like but I'd try more product and more slim-line straighteners.
change your shampoo and conditioner to a de friz one might help a little bit, you can get creams to put in your hair when its wet to de friz it, try john frieda, it doesnt matter if its a girls stuff might work better for you. hope i helped

just ask the hair dresser for a trim the best person to ask is them they know what there talking about and know what will suit you best


personally i wouldnt cut your hair i think it looks nice with a bit of length.
if you want it straight theres a chemical straightening thing you can have done. it takes about 30-60 minutes and lasts for 6 months.
Just grow it out into a jewfro!

Alright I have jaw lenght hair that is naturally lightsly curly [loose curls] / wavy, I straighten it daily. I've been playing with the idea of cutting it even shorter, like this :

my question is, if I cut it that length, will the shorter parts still curl? Or will it be too short to curl? Or would I still have to find a way to manage and straighten the shorter part?Cutting wavy/curly hair short?
No offense hun, but that's not an attractive but no matter what your face looks like. If you do but it that short, it's still going to curl - and you'll look completely silly unless you straighten it each and every day, which is going to seriously harm your hair.

they will still curl. but really short hair like that doesnt usually look all that great when its curly. so my suggestion is to not cut it that short or straighten it every day. but if you do straighten it, but a good straightener and heat protectors. otherwise it will fall out.
well if you cut it that short then if you wash your hair, it would become a fro, no joke. so if you want to cut it that short i recommend you straighten it good.
